Powell & Wolfgang Tillmans, Pan Daijing and Roly Porter & Paul Jebanasam (as ‘ALTAR’) are among the first acts announced for this summer’s Berlin Atonal.
Powell & Wolfgang Tillmans and Roly Porter & Paul Jebanasam’s shows will provide a first look at their respective collaborative projects. Both shows will feature audiovisual elements and Powell & Wolfgang Tillmans’ set will see them debut new music which they have been working on together.
Pan Daijing will debut her new work entitled ‘Fist Piece’, a composed live act focusing on voice and the relationship between bodies. Elsewhere on the lineup, Peder Mannerfelt and Malcolm Pardon will collaborate as Roll The Dice, while Renick Bell will team up with Fis.
Puce Mary will debut a new live performance piece called ‘A Feast Before the Drought’, while Abul Mogard will play his first ever live show. There’s also a DJ set lined up from Russian DJ and producer Inga Mauer and Karlheinz Stockhausen’s 8-channel acousmatic ‘OKTOPHONIE’ piece will be recreated and presented by long time Stockhausen collaborator and director of the Stockhausen Foundation for Music, Kathinka Pasveer.
Berlin Atonal takes place at the Kraftwerk building in Berlin as ever and will this year run from August 16-20. More acts will be announced over the coming weeks and months, but for now you can get tickets and find out more here.
