Berlin Atonal Confirms Full Music Programme for 2025 Edition

Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo will play live with Peder Mannerfelt and Yonatan Gat at this year's event

Berlin Atonal has shared the full five-day music programme for its 2025 edition.

Returning to its usual home of the Kraftwerk building in Berlin, the opening night of the event will take in world premiere live performances by Bendik Giske & Barker; Carmen Villain; and Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo, who will perform alongside Peder Mannerfelt and Yonatan Gat. There will also be DJ sets from Equiknoxx affiliate Gavsborg and DJ Pete, who will play back-to-back with Calibre.

The following night, there will be live performances by Moin; Djrum; emptyset, with visual artist MFO; and Ziúr & Sandi, who present their show, Home. The festival’s third night, falling on a Friday, will take in live sets by YHWH Nailgun, Rashad Becker, Lord Spikeheart and GRIEND, the duo of Puce Mary and Rainy Miller. There will also be DJ sets from DJ Marcelle, Djrum, Rrose and Gyrofield, among others.

Berlin Atonal’s penultimate night will take in further world premiere live performances by Amensia Scanner & Freeka Tet, presenting a show called S.L.O.T.H.; Lechuga Zafiro & Verraco, unveiling Hyperverbena; and Gombeen & Doygen. There will also be sets by Mark Fell & Okkyung Lee; Purelink; and Chiquimamani-Condori, as DJ E. Pinch and Martyn are listed for DJ sets, in addition to a three-way back-to-back between Anthony Linell, DJ Red and Neel.

The festival comes to a head with DJ sets from Mala, Shy One, Calibre and Azu Tiwaline, as well as live performances by Merbow, Iggor Cavalera & Eraldo Bernocchi; Niecy Blues; Heith; and Tikiman, alongside Hard Wax affiliate Arthur.

The latest lineup announcement completing the bill for this year’s Berlin Atonal follows on from the unveiling from an initial round of acts early last month. In addition to its main stage, the festival is introducing a new area this year, called Third Surface. It features partial table seating and takes inspiration from “the informal spaces and counter-institutions of nightlife before the rise of dance music”, according to a press release.

Berlin Atonal will take place from August 27 to 31, 2025. Find more information here.
