Berghain To Open Third Dancefloor

Berlin club to open new space for experimental club music

Berlin’s Berghain is to open a new space within the club called Säule.

As Electronic Beats reports, Säule will act as an additional accompaniment to the club’s current two main spaces, Berghain and Panorama Bar. German for ‘column’, Säule will be situated directly underneath Berghain’s current dance floor.

It will be home to a slightly more experimental set of bookings than the house and techno of Berghain and Panorama Bar, with Dis Fig, Illum Sphere and Laura Clock all booked in for its opening weekend, while Mannequin Records’ Alessandro Adriani, Deena Abdelwahed and Natalia Escobar will play another night. There’s no news on the space beyond that just yet.

The club already has a number of other additional spaces used at different times of the year, such as larger events and live gigs held at the venue.
