Ben Watt has announced that he’ll be heading off on tour in November for a five-show run showcasing new material.
The songs are set to appear on Watt’s forthcoming album, his first solo release since 1983’s North Marine Drive record, slated for release next year, produced by Ewan Pearson and featuring Bernard Butler, who’ll be accompanying Watt on all of the live dates, having played with him on his two solo shows in London in August.
In-keeping with his prolific ouput, Watt – DJ, producer, author, owner of the Buzzin’ Fly and Strange Feeling labels, radio presenter and former Everything But The Girl member – will be publishing his new book, Romany And Tom, about his parents, published by Bloomsbury in February 2014, when his 1996 memoir Patient, covering his experience surviving the life-threatening Churg-Strauss Syndrome auto-immune disease, will get republished.
He also recently broadcast his final 6 Mix, having presented the programme on BBC 6 Music for three years, though will be returning to the station next year for a series of one-off specials; head to 6 Music’s site to listen in full.
Take a look at the dates below and get tickets over at Watt’s website; in the meantime, tune into 6 Music on October 31 and Xfm on November 7 when he’ll be playing live sessions for Gideon Coe and John Kennedy respectively.
