We are sad to report that Robin Gibb lost his long battle with cancer over the weekend.
Robin was part of the Bee Gees with his brothers Maurice and Barry, who went on to be one of the most successful pop groups of all time and he also had a notable solo career.
After several health scares in 2010 it was revealed in November of last year that he had been suffering from liver cancer for several months and his prognosis was not good.
In March of this year it was announced that his disease had gone into remission but the following month he went into a coma after contracting pneumonia.
He died in London on May 20. He leaves a wife Dwina and four children.
DJ Paul Gambacini praised him on the BBC saying he was "one of the major figures in the history of British music" and "one of the best white soul voices ever", while he noted that the Bee Gees were "second only to Lennon and McCartney as the most successful songwriting unit in British popular music".
