Becoming The Forest Zine Launches With Gig

Literature and arts journal about forests and black metal have launch gig

Becoming The Forest 2, the latest edition of the independent publication which treads "the arboreal pathway through the backwoods of black metal", is celebrating its latest issue with a gig.

The magazine costs £11.21 and features contributions from ALKERDEEL, ASHTORETH, Quietus favourite BOTANIST, Lotte Brown, Camilla Christensen, Audrey Ewell, Fen, Una Hamilton Helle, Hexvessel, Ibrahim Ineke, Amelia Ishmael, Sarah Jury, Theodor Kittelsen, MORK OCCVLTA, Trond Sebastian Rusten and Andrew Walter. One of tQ’s very own writers, Dayal Patterson, is also involved in the zine.

The show, which takes place on October 22 at Nambuca, on London’s Holloway Road, is being organised in collaboration with artist Flora Parrott and black metal publishers Cult Never Dies. The night will feature music from Mork, The Infernal Sea and Ashtoreth, as well as a panel discussion, talks and art installations. Organisers promise that the all-important spelunking demographic will be catered for.
