Beastie Boys For US Election Tour

Plus they're backing Obama

The Beastie Boys have announced a three night tour of the United States intended to motivate the nation’s youth to go and vote on November 4th.

The shows, on October 28th, November 1st and 2nd, will see the Beastie Boys joined by such luminaries as Sheryl Crow, Tenacious D, Santogold, Norah Jones and Crosby and Nash.

The ‘Boys also revealed the not altogether unsurprising news that they’ll be plumping for Barack Obama come polling day. Speaking to Billboard, the band explained the reasoning behind the tour: "The election is too important to stay at home. We hope that you can come out, have a nice night out, dance, sing, get your freak on, and then wake up the next morning and get everybody you possibly can to get out and vote."
