Beacons Festival Expands Line-Up

Kwes, Maya Jane Coles and Patrick Wolf among those added

Last month the Beacons Festival announced the first names for this year’s event, which included Roots Manuva, Factory Floor, Junior Boys, Hessle Audio’s Pearson Sound, Jam City and Peaking Lights. The festival, which runs from 17th-19th August in Funkirk Estate, Skipton, has today added a bunch of new names to the roster.

The expanded line-up now features Patrick Wolf, rising UK house producer Maya Jane Coles, Warp Records’ Kwes (who was responsible for producing Speech Debelle’s latest album), Lunice, Clock Opera, The Wave Pictures, Outfit, Arthur Beatrice, Hookworks and Au Palais. Saturday’s headliner is due to be announced in three weeks’ time, along with a further ten artists.

After a disastrous 2011, when unforeseen bad weather effectively cut off access to the site due to widespread flooding – causing its complete cancellation – the festival has moved to a different site for 2012. Pictures of the new site and more information are available at the festival’s Facebook page and website.
