Azar Swan, the duo of Zohra Atash and Josh Strawn, are releasing their second album next Monday, October 27. And Blow Us A Kiss is out via Zoo Music, run by Dee Dee Penny of Dum Dum Girls and Brandon Welchez of Crocodiles, who’ve previously released material from Dirty Beaches among others. Azar Swan finds Atash and Strawn indulging further the industrial fancies in their previous incarnation as Religious To Damn, a fact reflected in the appearance of former Coil man Drew McDowall on the record, following his remix of ‘In My Mouth’ (listen at the foot of the piece) from last year’s debut LP, Dance Before The War. He joins a couple of other guests on the album, Hether Fortune of tour mates White Lung and Nikki Sneakers. Before the album’s release, the band have kindly given us a first play of album track, ‘We Hunger’. It’s a fine continuation of where the first track from the album, ‘For Last And Forever’ (below), started: worship of juddering, gloriously synthetic drum patterns and Atash’s voice carving out some earworm hooks – take a listen above.
