Jeff Mills’ Axis Records Sets Out 2020 Plans

"The Axis Records Universe is expanding," the Detroit techno pioneer says

Jeff Mills has set out plans for this year for his Axis Records imprint that will see the label "expand its musical scope in the areas of classical, jazz and film soundtracks."

Mills says that while Axis will maintain its focus on techno and his own works, the label will also soon "include more works that encompass live musicians/soloists and players from other genres," with releases lined up from Alabama jazz house artist Byron The Aquarius, classical violinst Mari Samuelsen and Spiral Deluxe, the jazz quartet that Mills forms part of alongside Yumiko Ohno, Kenji "Jino" Hino and Gerald Mitchell. These releases are expected from late 2020.

Ahead of these records, Jeff Mills has lined up a number of instalments in the Every Dog Has Its Day series under his Millsart alias.
