For part of our Day Of Radio in partnership with the good folks of The Gorilla Channel and Lush earlier this month, our Luke Turner hosted a show entitled ‘Away With The Birds’, exploring a love for birdsong and its connections with music.
We were joined by Mark Constantine, head honcho of Lush and bird expert, as well as the magnificent Chris Packham, who took us on a journey through the music within other species of animal, what birdsong can tell us about sexuality and sleaze in the animal kingdom, and more.
Recorder genius Laura Cannell was also in attendance, performing live and recounting her improvisational pieces based on the sounds of nature.
