Autotelia is the new collaborative project of The Oscillation’s Demian Castellanos and Tom Relleen (who is also one-half of Tomaga), and they’re set to release their first album under the new name, the appropriately titled I, next month.
Much of the music that features on the album was recorded by the duo in the last two years, and sees them emerging with a new focus having released music together as The Oscillation for over a decade. Premiering above ahead of the album’s release is opening track track ‘First Flight’ which you can hear in all its 11-minute glory, alongside some colourful visuals put together by Ross Adams.
"This project was started as an opportunity to play more freely, with less of the process, consideration and production we both associated with our main projects," explains Tom Relleen. "These tracks are pure escapism – zoning out and not worrying about anything. I think that when playing music for a completely new project it can be really liberating since there is no expectation and no baggage associated with that you might have already released; the slate is blank."
Rocket Recordings will release I on June 12, 2020.
