AU, the duo of Luke Wyland and Dana Valatka who have just released their third album Both Lights through the Leaf Label, have announced a series of UK dates later this month.
Both Lights is a significant expansion of the AU sound, which previously touched on Grizzly Bear-esque orchestral folk and muffled pop songwriting. The new album features saxophone powerhouse Colin Stetson adding a little extra chaos to proceedings on a couple of tracks, and its entire mood is far stormier and more changeable than any of AU’s previous recordings. The duo have a live reputation to match, with Valatka’s drums and percussion accompanied by Wyland multitasking, singing while playing keyboard, extra percussion and a raft of other instruments. The tour dates run as follows:
APRIL
23rd – Bristol, Louisiana
24th – Manchester, The Castle Hotel
25th – London, Shacklewell Arms
26th – Brighton, Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar
