Asiq Nargile will present her saz-inflected music in a performance at London’s Jazz Cafe this April in a show that we at tQ are very happy to be presenting.
Born in Tbilisi and now based in Southern Georgia’s Borcali region, she has been playing the long-neck lute since the age of 15 and first played here in the UK in support of Richard Dawson, sweeping up fans over the course of those shows. Last year she headlined Womad Festival and continued to tour further afield, also releasing a live recording of her last London show which took place at Cafe Oto in October 2014 – the record was entitled Yurt Yeri.
The show at Jazz Cafe takes place on April 26 with tickets on sale now here.
