Aphex Twin’s ‘Windowlicker’ Features In UK Road Safety Ad

One of Aphex Twin's most well known tracks soundtracks a new UK road safety advert

If you’re watching TV in the near future, you may be treated to the familiar sounds of Aphex Twin’s 1999 track ‘Windowlicker’ which has been used to soundtrack a new UK road safety ad.

The advertisement, which you can watch above, is titled ‘Pink Kittens’ and forms part of a new road safety campaign from the Department of Transport’s road safety organisation THINK! The advert focuses on informing young people of the dangers of using a mobile phone whilst driving. The video, filmed in south London, was directed by We Are LA, who are the duo behind the music video for Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’.

The clip shows how a driver moving at 30 miles per hour can fail to see 100 feet of road while looking at a phone for 2.3 seconds.
