Aphex Twin To Play Houston Festival

Producer will make first US appearance since 2008 later this year

Public appearances and sets from Aphex Twin have been few and far between in recent years, but that’s possibly about to change following some teasing from Warp Records.

The label, which has released the bulk of the producer’s output throughout his career, shared a short teaser video featuring the infamous Aphex logo alongside a flashing of Houston’s Day For Night Festival, suggesting that Richard D. James could be playing there later this year. It has now been confirmed by Billboard that he will play the festival which takes place from December 17-18.

It has been alleged that Aphex Twin has taken to playing DJ sets anonymously in a variety of locations in recent years though these claims are unconfirmed. The appearance at Day For Night marks his first in the US since 2008 and his first public appearance in a number of years.
