Relive Aphex Twin’s Printworks Set

Richard D. James played music from ZULI, Stanislav Tolkachev, Psychic TV and more over the course of the two-hour set

On Saturday (September 14), Aphex Twin returned to play his first London show in just over two years and his first club show in the city in a decade at London’s Printworks as part of Red Bull Music Festival.

The full two-hour set was streamed live via Red Bull and has now been archived. You can watch it back above. Frequent visual collaborator Weirdcore manned visuals throughout the set, which included the by-now classic folded heads of various public figures. Boris Johnson, Piers Morgan, the Queen, Ant & Dec and this year’s Love Island winners, Amber & Greg, were amongst those included.

The performance, for which Richard D. James was joined on-stage by wife Anastasia, took in a selection of ’90s rave music from the likes of The Future Sound Of London, Gescom, Renegade Soundwave and Bizarre Inc. in addition to a clutch of newer material from producers such as ZULI, Stanislav Tolkachev, AQXDM and Torn.

As ever, there was a bunch of Aphex Twin material, released and unreleased, featured and a selection of jungle from producers such as DJ SS and Current Value. You can keep up with the progress of a fan-produced tracklist for the set via Reddit here.
