Aphex Twin released a limited edition 12-inch vinyl record to attendees of Field Day at London’s Victoria Park over the weekend.
The artist, real name Richard D. James, headlined the London day festival six years on from his last appearance there when he also released a limited edition record. This latest record features five tracks and was limited to 100 copies, which were made available for sale at the price of £5 via the merch stall.
The records sold out before he took to the stage, and have now begun surfacing for resale for hundreds of pounds on sites such as eBay and Discogs. This is James’ second limited edition vinyl release of the summer, following on from a two-track 12-inch vinyl record which was made available in June when he appeared at Barcelona’s Sónar festival.
You can find full details of the Field Day record, and listen to each of the five tracks on it, via its Discogs listing.
The release of the record, titled London 19.08.2023, follows on from the unveiling last week of a new augmented reality app from Aphex Twin. He also put out a four-track EP, Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In A Room7 F760, via Warp Records last month.
