Aphex Twin has curated a Spotify and YouTube playlist for streetwear fashion brand Supreme.
Titled ‘[mostly mellow]’, the 191-song collection clocks in at almost 10 hours worth of music and includes work by the likes of Burial, Severed Heads, Simple Minds, Delia Derbyshire, Brian Eno, Chris & Cosey, Clarissa Connelly, Piero Umiliani, Alabaster dePlume, Haruomi Hosono, Marvin Gaye, Actress, Holger Czukay, Tortoise, Run-D.M.C., Herbie Hancock and Pauline Anna Strom.
It also includes eight pieces from the recently released BBC Radiophonic Workshop archives, and one of Aphex Twin’s own tracks, 2015’s ‘XMAS_EVET1 N’.
The playlist follows on from the unveiling last week of a joint clothing collaboration between the UK artist and Supreme. It features T-shirts, jackets, hats and other clothing items adorned with visuals referencing the music videos for classic Aphex Twin tracks such as ‘Windowlicker’ and ‘Come To Daddy’.
In December, the artist released the compilation Music From The Merch Desk (2016-2023), which collected various cuts previously only available on vinyl releases sold at gigs.
