Batshit prog-metallers ANTA are set for a short UK tour this week. Coming off the back of appearances at Birmingham’s Supersonic Festival and a hometown gig at The Exchange in Bristol with heavy psych mainstays Mugstar and Anthroprophh, the band will be taking their piledriving riffs, doomy organ and brain-farting time signatures to the following venues:
JUNE
Wed 4 – The Tin Music & Arts, Coventry
Thu 5 – The Full Moon, Cardiff w/ The Fierce And The Dead
Fri 6 – The Underworld, London w/ The Fierce And The Dead
Sat 7 – The Cowley Club, Brighton
Sun 8 – Mello Mello, Liverpool
Their second album Centurionaut, released last year via their own Thrones & Dominions label, garnered glowing reviews from all those receptive to the charms of widdily, discordant guitar solos and heady conceptualism. Reviewing for tQ, Gravenhurst’s Nick Talbotwrote wrote: "Centurionaut appeals to the inner headphone space cadet and outer sweaty rock ogre equally. Through celestial drones and echolocations it explores sonic spaces, rhythmic symmetry and the spiritual singularity that can only be reached via the repeated application of an unabashedly muscular riff."
