Anna Meredith To Lead Residency

Brighter Sound presents Manchester residency open to young female musicians and artists

Acclaimed composer and producer Anna Meredith will be leading a residency at the Museum of Science and Industry Manchester in July as part of the Science in the City Festival.

Featuring guitarist and composer Jack Ross and visual artist Eleanor Meredith, the residency invites young female musicians and artists to collaborate and respond to the Wonder Materials: Graphene and Beyond exhibition.

Meredith, whose debut album, Varmints, was released on Moshi Moshi earlier this year, has composed music that can be heard anywhere from sleep-pods in Singapore to the last night of the BBC Proms. Earlier this month her project Anno featuring Eleanor Meredith and The Scottish Ensemble debuted at Oval Space.

The residency is a fantastic opportunity for emerging female musicians and artists to work with the inventive composer. Taking place from 18-21 July, the four-day programme culminates in a performance on Wednesday 27 July. For more information or to apply, click here.
