Andy Rourke The Music Mogul

Former Smiths bassist lands A&R job

In the week that Morrissey alluded that he may soon quit music altogether, former bandmate Andy Rourke has put both feet firmly on the corporate ladder by being named Director of A&R for music marketing firm The Musebox.

On his new role, where he will be responsible for spotting and nurturing new talent, Rourke said: "I look forward to working with the team in finding and nurturing some talented newbies, taking them up level by level and helping them achieve their full potential as artists and professionals."

Rourke’s move might be the death nail to any miniscule and vain hopes of a Smiths reunion – althought with Mozza on such fine form, who cares?
