Alva Noto To Release Fourth Xerrox Album

The producer's new album continues a series which he launched in 2007

Noton label head Alva Noto is releasing a new album next month.

Xerrox Vol. 4 is naturally the fourth record in the Xerrox series which the producer launched in 2007. The albums have seen the producer, real name Carsten Nicolai, copying and re-copying samples until they are rendered unrecognisable from their original form.

Nicolai released the previous instalment in the Xerrox series in 2015. A fifth edition is due to be released in the future, though details of when have not yet been confirmed by Nicolai or his label.

Noton will release Xerrox Vol. 4 on June 19. You can hear clips of the record via Bleep here.

Last month, Alva Noto released his own Robert Smith-approved cover of The Cure’s ‘A Forest’.

You can revisit Nicolai’s 2018 Baker’s Dozen here.
