Alison Cotton Details New Album, ‘Engelchen’

It's inspired by the story of Ida and Louise Cook, two women who helped arrange the paths of refugees out of danger in 1930s Nazi-occupied Europe

Alison Cotton is set to release a new album, Engelchen, this March.

Featuring seven tracks, the record is inspired by the story of Ida and Louise Cook, two women who helped arrange the paths of refugees out of danger in 1930s Nazi-occupied Europe. The album’s title translates from German to English as "little angel", and its tracks were first created for a live performance that Cotton did at Sunderland’s Holy Trinity Church in March 2023. You can listen to lead track ‘The Letter Burning’ above.

Rocket Recordings will release Engelchen on March 13, 2024.
