Alan Vega’s first two solo albums, Alan Vega and Collision Drive, are being reissued by Sacred Bones.
Both LPs have been remastered from their original tapes for the updated release, and are also being made available on streaming platforms for the first time ever as part of the reissue campaign.
Sacred Bones will also put out an additional companion record, Alan Vega Deluxe Edition, which will be available as a limited deluxe double-LP, and include unheard demos, unseen photos and new artwork. The physical editions of all three albums will come with unseen photos and new album artwork.
To mark the announcement of the reissues, you can watch a video for the remastered ‘Ice Drummer’, from Alan Vega, below.
Originally released in 1980, Vega’s self-titled solo album came out around the same period Suicide released their second album, Suicide: Alan Vega And Martin Rev. Vega wanted to dig deeper into the roots of his sound, and took on influences of early rock ‘n’ roll and his love of Elvis Presley.
That same year, he recorded Collision Drive, which came out in 1981. Taking on a grittier sound than its predecessor, the record explored themes of science fiction and politics.
Sacred Bones will release Alan Vega, Collision Drive and Alan Vega Deluxe Edition on January 23, 2026.
