Alan McGee Launches New Label

Creation23 is a new 7" label from Creation Records founder Alan McGee

Alan McGee, the man behind Creation Records, which launched the careers of the likes of Oasis and Primal Scream, is launching a new 7" label called Creation23.

"I want to put out records again," McGee says of his intentions behind starting the new label. Its first release will come from an indie band based in North Essex called Rubber Jaw. Entitled Feeling Funny, the record features two songs – the title track and a B-side called ‘Bumpy Faces’. It will be available on limited edition blue vinyl and will come with artwork and inserts produced by the band, as well as a golden ticket for free entry, with a plus one, to their shows for a year.

Alan McGee left Creation Records in 1999 going on to start a new label called Poptones in 2000. Read our 2014 interview with him in which he picks his 13 favourite records here.

Creation23 will release its first record on October 5. You can find out more information here.
