Following the release of their debut album last month, Leeds quarter Adult Jazz have shared a cover of the album’s opening track, ‘Hum’, by contemporary composer Oliver Coates and it’s streaming above. Coates, who has previously worked with Jonny Greenwood, DOOM and Massive Attack, keeps much of the original’s restraint, adding occasional ambient flourishes and vocals from frequent collaborator Chrysanthemum Bear. The cover follows another rework, this time by Happa, of Adult Jazz’s ‘Idiot Mantra’ which you can check out and download for free below.
Adult Jazz have also today announced a show at London’s Corsica Studios on November 11 to add to their run of previously scheduled November UK tour dates in Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow and Brighton. You can read David Peschek’s review of debut album Gist Is here and find full details for their upcoming UK and European tour here, with a tour trailer at the foot of the piece.
