Hey, cinema fans: A Field In England, the excellent English Civil War-cum-mushrooms trip movie, one of tQ’s favourite films of this year, is being shown this Friday, August 16, at Rough Trade East in London, to mark the release of its soundtrack on vinyl.
Not only that, but director Ben Wheatley and producer Andrew Starke will be in attendance to introduce the film and talk about it in a Q&A session following the screening. This will be hosted by none other than our own film editor Mat Colegate, a venerable guide through the foggy hazes of sinister psychedelic cinema if ever there was one.
The event begins at 6.30 p.m. and tickets are £5 (though this is redeemable against a DVD copy of the film) – get hold of them at Rough Trade East’s website. There’ll also be a limited number of copies of the vinyl soundtrack, a rarity in itself, with only 500 copies being pressed in total.
