100% Silk To Tour UK

Not Not Fun's sister dancefloor imprint to blaze a trail of glamour and glitter across the UK in June

Amanda Brown’s 100% Silk label, a sister imprint to the longer running Not Not Fun, have announced a tour of the UK and Europe this June.

The label, which has gained a great deal of attention, both positive and negative, since it was founded at the start of 2011, found many of NNF’s associates moving from noisy, dubbed-out pop into scuzzy and silken forms of house music. Its output has not all been uniformly brilliant, and the criticisms of some of the label’s artists as being too in thrall to the sounds of the past does hold some weight; however, there has equally been a great deal of fantastic music released through 100% Silk, and some of its best artists have started to develop formidable live shows of their own.

This tour will bring some of the label’s longer-running artists to UK shores from 6th-9th June. It will be headlined by Amanda Brown under her LA Vampires guise. She’s been responsible for some of NNF’s best records of the last couple of years, including collaborations with Ital and Matrix Metals, and is set to release an EP with Octo Octa on Silk in the next month or so.

Joining her are Ital himself, hot on the heels of the release of his Hive Mind album (a slow-burner if ever we’ve heard one), Maria Minerva and Magic Touch. Joining them at a couple of dates will also be fellow NNF/Silk labelmates Heatsick and Innergaze.

The tour dates run as follows:

JUNE

6th – Sheffield, Fez Club

7th – Glasgow, Nice ‘N’ Sleazy w/Innergaze

8th – Bristol, Motorcycle Showroom w/Heatsick

9th – London, Secret East London Location (naturally…)
