Mogwai On: Rave Tapes & Mogwai Whiskey

Earlier this year we filmed a series of short interviews with Mogwai, the first looking at their history and the second a discussion of their thoughts on the Scottish independence referendum. In the final film, Mogwai discuss their working methods ("wing it", according to Barry) and the writing and recording of this year’s Rave Tapes album, their soundtrack work, their varying enthusiasm for prog rock, Stuart Braithwaite’s Fields Of The Nephilim habit, hats, raving in Murrayfield ice rink, the increasing use of electronics in Mogwai’s sound. And, most importantly, the making of Mogwai’s own-brand whiskey, and speculation as to whether Aidan Moffat is more of a fire water man, or prefers "eccies an Breezers". Mogwai’s new record, Music Industry 3. Fitness Industry 1. is out via Rock Action on Monday December 1st.
