Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

Phil Manley: This is an amazing document of a band in their prime. Recorded live at the Olympia in Paris, 1971, this album features Bootsy Collins on bass and his brother Catfish Collins on guitar. The band shifts seamlessly from song to song, changing tempos on a dime. It’s mind-boggling. The audience is losing it, too. We had this CD in a van on one tour in Europe and we listened to it every day. It was both inspiring and incredibly humbling.
