4. KraftwerkMan Machine

I’ve picked Man Machine over any other Kraftwerk album because of the memories I have of listening to it in 1981. I remember putting it on, hearing that blip and thinking, ‘Where the hell does this come from?’ I remember trying to break it down and work out how it was put together. Keyboards were big at that time. I remember going to music lessons at a temple for a few weeks until I realised it was a waste of time. Somebody had brought in some of those Casio programmable keyboards and just realising that those noises could be programmed. ‘Neon Lights’. I remember listening to it and it made you happy, like it was summer time.
