This is a masterpiece, and influential to me, for sure. It’s a record that I listen to probably more than any other record.

I love her other stuff, but this one is just.. it just… I don’t know…I like someone new coming along and doing an interpretation of classic songwriting; taking a really fantastic songwriting craft and making something that could only have come out of the now. I want to make a record as good as Julia Holter. That’s my aim.
