Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

13. Daft PunkHomework

When I heard this album, I was starting to make electronic music, but I also loved the energy of rock. I love riffs from rock, which I could kind of see as related to dance music, how you have these loops and things like that. And when I heard Daft Punk’s Homework, it was giving all the influences of rock. So, I understood that electronic music doesn’t have to be sterile. It can have this depth of all your influences. Especially ‘Rollin’ And Scratchin’’, which again has that intensity. That made me realise where punk and rock and dance music could come together
