Memphis rap in the early to mid-90s was made in a vacuum where nothing sounds anything like it before or after. It’s this fucked up mixture of John Carpenter synth lines with most of the lyrics dealing with depression and suicide. This only came out as a tape I think and has the greatest cover ever made.
