Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

2. OdysseyOdyssey

It’s such a New York-sounding album! In my head it’s like Cagney and Lacey, it’s a safe sound, and I love her voice because it’s not a sensationally acrobatic voice, but it’s a very maternal voice, there’s something very different about it. Again, it’s a record from childhood and there are songs I didn’t understand on it, like ‘Weekend Lover’, I’d sing along with it and didn’t get what it was about. I love that production, and you probably had these shit-hot studio musicians and making this great sound.
