Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

5. FKA TwigsLP1

I remember the first time I heard FKA Twigs, I went, ‘This is awesome. I have no idea what’s going on here.’ I feel like FKA Twigs created a lot of change for people. She started doing stuff that was really different from a lot of other people, and then a lot of people seemed to follow her, and that’s great! I just wanted to show appreciation for how important this music is in this particular subgenre of a genre, not really able to be boxed in. I don’t know, it’s one of those things where I’m like, ‘I love it, and I don’t know why I love it, and it’s great!’
