13. Toro Y Moi‘So Many Details’

I love this song. It’s another song that could make me cry. And it’s the same reason: he’s saying some simple shit, but there’s this buildup, this hypnotic electronic buildup. That is my song.

I fell into this music thing at a young age, and usually when you’re that young everything feels so organic. But I was just figuring everything out but on stage at the same time. When I look back at old videos [of myself], I’m like, oh my God, I hate the way that the violin sounds, or, I hate the way that I sound. I can feel the nervousness in the voice. But I finally feel like I know what I need. I was able to find my sound and people were giving me grace. I feel free now. I know how I want to perform. I’m not shy anymore.
