Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

7. Deckard‘The Warriors (Deckard Rework)’

Well, this then brings us on to the Corsica Studios era. It’s an edit of the theme from The Warriors, that cult 70s film that you’ll recognise from the first few bars if you know it. It’s by Chris Massey from Manchester using a sly alias, which is why I’ve struggled to find it myself actually. This one is just perfect for our crowd, with that menacing feel to it that works so well to set the mood. Really atmospheric and it just pulsates all the way through. I always liked Corsica Studios as a venue and I liked Adrian [Jones] the promoter very much but the logistics of it didn’t really work for us. The main room wasn’t big enough and you had to book other acts. But if we booked other acts, nobody wanted to listen to them and they all rammed into the main room, which could get a bit snug at times, to put it mildly.
