Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

4. Nic JonesGame, Set & Match

Nic Jones is a totally wonderful singer, and so manly. Even at my age, I can appreciate that! He booked me in his folk club in my early days, and I loved how he sang these big, robust songs. I could listen to anything he sings, but ‘Master Kilby’ on this album is my favourite. It’s such a sensual, beautiful song, ending with a man and woman making love by the sea shore, and a woman asking for more. I mean, I would!
