Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

8. 4heroTwo Pages

What they’ve done for dance music, jungle music, breakbeat, broken beat… all these various genres that they’ve been a part of, created or enhanced in some way, it’s so important to me. I would love to have a legacy like 4Hero. Marc Mac and Dego are probably two of the most influential UK producers that we’ve ever had. The amount of people that reference them from the jungle scene and talk about how amazing they are, they’re honestly 10 out of 10.

I was very fortunate enough to talk to Marc Mac for my radio show a long time ago, when I used to be on Radio 1, and it was just lovely hearing him speak. Really lovely, really chill. It’s so mad – not that I’d expect anyone to have an ego, but I don’t think they realise what they’ve done to music, the gravitas of where music has gone because of them. That Two Pages album is representative of everything that they’ve achieved and worked towards. A very special group of people.
