5. 2 In A RoomWorld Party

Oh God, 2 In A Room! One word: depression! I was listening to this album and Vengaboys’ The Party Album. These two albums essentially got me out of depression. It’s just so cheesy and so fun, but the instrumentation around it also is really, really good. What a time to be alive in the early to mid 90s! If you go by some of the music that was made, you just think that they were partying every single day.
What I enjoyed about this album was that they’re obviously two amazing, very talented Latino artists but they’re mixing and fusing hip house and dance into this album. I think only those two could have made it. I think it was ‘Ahora’ that I found via compilation and then it led me to then finding this album.
When you’re depressed, you can’t really get out of bed, all that kind of stuff. Then slowly I just started shaking, and grooving, then it would be in rotation with Vengaboys, and I’d be dancing. Eventually I got lifted out of this depression, because it was like, do you know what? Life is shit, but I’m having a great time! So this album means a lot to me. It’s joyful all the way through, all different styles: Western, hip house, dance… like, that’s so random. Why would there ever be a country tune on it? A time was definitely had making that album, and I appreciate them for their good time – because it gave me a good time in the end.
