Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

1. François de RoubaixLe Vieux Fusil

François de Roubaix is one of my favourite musicians. He did a lot of music for movies and TV shows, and he was a great composer – a really, really great composer, with beautiful melodies, beautiful chords. And in the same time, he discovered new sounds of synths. He was the first guy to use complicated synths in French music. And he was a beautiful guy, like beautiful shape, a beautiful face. And so ‘Le Vieux Fusil’, it’s the first song I learned on piano, and when you learn a song and it’s your first song, it’s a print of you, it’s like your tattoo. And so this guy, François de Roubaix, he’s kind of my vision of the coolness – how to be French and cool.
