Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

This is kind of a random one for me, but I like that era of pop music, with that really world music influence – I say "world music" because it was elements from everything. This record is amazing – it has ‘Red Rain’, that song ‘Don’t Give Up’ with Kate Bush. I was 11, and there was thing in this magazine where if you sent one cent you’d get sent all these cassette tapes – Columbia House, it was called. But then they would also sign you up, and so my parents would get all these bills… Anyway, that’s how I got Peter Gabriel! And I used to sing every song.
