Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

1. Fleetwood MacRumours

The first album I ever bought was Rumours by Fleetwood Mac, when I was about ten. I love every track on it, and I loved Stevie Nicks’ voice when I was a kid. I used to try and emulate her.

The first song I ever heard from that album was ‘The Chain’ and as soon as I heard that single I knew that I had to get the album. It was just so exciting, that track, it sent shivers up my spine. I just loved it so much. And still today you hear it and you think; ‘wow’. It still stands up today.

They’re brilliant live, I’ve been to see them four times. Lindsey Buckingham’s one of the best guitarists you could ever watch, such a showman. And Stevie Nicks, with her little dress, flicking backwards and forwards, she has such a fantastic voice.

Selected in other Baker’s Dozens: Suzi Quatro, UNKLE, Martha Wainwright, Brix Smith-Start, Trans Am, Alan Mcgee
