8. David Byrne, Brian EnoMy Life In The Bush Of Ghosts

A totally new approach, giving electronic music a tribal primitive feeling. Groundbreaking visionary stuff. They took apart the apparent structure of Western pop and rock music and let the noise of the world in. Eno and Byrne weren’t just playing with tape loops and found sounds for the sake of experimentation, they were building something almost ritualistic. It was like tuning into a strange, global frequency. Very modern, but ancient in feel – music stripped of ego.
