Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

9. Pink FloydAnimals

I was a late bloomer with Pink Floyd, I bought Animals before Wish You Were Here or Dark Side Of The Moon. Animals is a pretty good record, and who doesn’t love a gigantic inflatable pig hovering around the towering smoke stacks of London’s Battersea Power Station? I would also like to point out that Animals is the last good record Pink Floyd made. The highly touted and adored Wall is a self-parody piece of stinky. Oh! And I accidentally saw Roger Waters for free in Los Angeles a few years ago and part of the extravagant stage show was, spelled out in forty-foot-high letters, the words TRUMP IS A PIG! It was beautiful! I cried tears of joy with a huge smile on my face.
