1. Stevie WonderSongs In The Key Of Life

I’ll preface this list by saying that for me, there is no single greatest album. The ones I’ve chosen are just the ones that exist way up in the stratosphere, so I’ll start with an album that I like just because it takes me back. I remember hearing this album a lot in cars, back in the 70s when I was growing up. It just takes me to a completely different place. And later on, when I was able to get a copy of the record myself and could really listen to it, I learned that Stevie is so unique as an instrumentalist and as a songwriter. I feel like if you know Stevie’s songs, then you’ve learned something. I just remember it being on the radio and hearing it all the time. They say that Stevie Wonder’s left hand is the best bass player in history; I’m pretty sure that just one finger on his left hand is better than I am.
