Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

13. Michael RaultMa-Me-O

This one’s a left-fielder. It’s the only new record I chose for this list, although when I say it’s a new record, I probably found it about 10 years ago or something. It’s by a Canadian guy named Michael Rault, and he did this record back in 2010 that you almost can’t get hold of. You have to order it on vinyl if you want to get a physical copy. I think he did some record deal in Canada, but they just won’t put this album out big time, and I think it’s one of the greatest things he’s ever done. If you go online and stream it, you’re going to love this fucking record. He plays everything on it. He’s so funky and so good, and he’s a great songwriter too. This record really blew me away.
