Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

It’s when something gets you, isn’t it? You can’t put your finger on it, it just gets you in your gut. And that was me with The Pop Group. It was the same with Magazine, although as beautiful as it was that was quite intricate, whereas this was more freeform. I’d never heard anything like that Bristol sound. It was fantastic, a beautiful album. It was almost a tribal, festival thing, the early days of new age almost, not in music but mindset. There was probably a lot of weed going around.
